We are making our Thanksgiving Day plans... I'm all over the yams this year, as usual, and that suits me just fine. I have always loved yams and we have an exceptionally good recipe for them.

Sweet potato casserole
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. oats
1/2 c. flour
1 T. cinnamon
5-6 yams
cranberries
1 1/2 c. marshmallows
Boil yams until soft, peel, and kinda mash them a little. Put in casserole dish and put a handful (or as much as you'd like) of fresh cranberries over yams. Mix first 5 ingredients and spread over yams. Bake 30 min. at 350 degrees. Top with marshmallows and broil until brown. Yum-o!

I'll also be attempting a new recipe this year that I found last year that I really wanted to make but was 9 months pregnant and couldn't stand to be in the kitchen for very long at all. It is a gingerbread pumpkin pie. Doesn't that sound good? Can't wait to try that one out. I think it calls for a gingersnap crust which sounds great because I always stress over the crust. I have a really good crust recipe, I just can't roll it out right.
